Desert Festival, Jaisalmer(January- February): Desert festival poses the best opportunity to feel the rich and Colourful culture of desert region of Rajasthan. The picturesque backdrop of Jaisalmer fort, the sand dunes of desert, glorious music, dance and wonderful hospitality is a perfect combination for a fantastic experience. There are folk performers, puppeteers, acrobats and snake charmers. There are loads of camels that come from surrounding villages and one can have camel rides here. The other attractions are Camel Dance, Camel polo, turban tying competition and display of glorious moustaches. The other attraction is Mr. Desert contest that is really fun to experience.

Kite Festival(14 Jan every year): Although it is celebrated all over Rajasthan, the main celebrations are in Jodhpur and Jaipur. People fly Kites of different colours and shapes and the look at the sky is enchanting to watch on this day. In the evenings the kites with lights in them and fireworks are seen.

Mewar Festival(March-April): Mewar festival is mainly held in Udaipur to mark the welcome of the spring season. There are songs, dances, processions and fireworks which is a delight to watch.

Elephant Festival Jaipur(March-April): It is held in the city of Jaipur and held on the day of Holi, the festival of colours. It has the beautiful procession of elephants, camels, horses and has wonderful folk dancers. The owners embellish elephants with vibrant colours and heavy Jewellery. One can see people sprinkling colours and there is prize for the most beautifully decorated elephant.. Other attractions include Elephant Tug of war, Elephant polo and elephant dance MARWAR FESTIVAL, JODHPUR ( October): This happens in Jodhpur and people from all villages in Marwar participate and you can see folk dances, puppet shows and see the local art and culture. It is held in the memory of heroes of Rajasthan.

Pushkar Fair, Ajmer(November): Pushkar festival is the most popular festival in Rajasthan and help in the month of October November. It attracts tourists from across the world. It is cattle fair where people from villages buy and sell camels. There are traditional Bazaars, auctions, music and sports. We highly recommend a visit to this and book well in advance.

Camel Fair, Bikaner(January): It is held in city of bikaner and has camel races, folk dances and lots of music and colours. It is fast gaining popularity and it is third most popular festival of Rajasthan. Camel’s rhythmic footwork, decorative bridles, jingling anklets with a backdrop of massive Junagarh Fort made of red sandstone and dusky sands mesmerize the audience. A visit is highly recommended.
