DAY 1 - 2: NEW DELHI
Welcome to India. Our tour manager will receive you at Airport and will escort you to your hotel in an AC car. Delhi, the capital city of India, was planned by Edwin Lutyens, the 20th century British architect, and is a curious blend of the old and the new. Overcome Jetlag and Relax. Visit Old Delhi city - Visit Jama Masjid, the largest mosque in India, the massive Red Fort, Chandni Chowk and Raj Ghat - the cremation site of Mahatma Gandhi.
Qutub Minar - A 72 meter high monument and Humayun’s Tomb built in mid 16th century. Evening at leisure On the way back, enjoy a detour at the historic India Gate, and pass through the President’s House (Rashtrapati Bhavan), Safdarjung’s Tomb & the Indian Parliament
DAY 3 - 5: KAZIRANGA NATIONAL PARK
Fly from New Delhi to Guwahati and travel from Ghuwahati to Kaziranga ( A comfortable journey of 5/6 hrs. The road passes through unending forests and plantations ). Check-in into a Wildlife Resort. Kaziranga National Park is a UNESCO world heritage site, and home to around 1,800 endangered one horn rhinoceros. It also has species like tiger, leopard, etc and beautiful birds like the great Hornbill – a particular favorite of westerners. Take an Exploratory tour on a Jeep Safari. Go for Elephant Safaris where you get to see one-horn rhinos, tigers and hornbills.
DAY 6 - 7: KOLKATA
Travel to Jorhat and fly to Kolkata. Kolkata, originally Calcutta is also known as the City of Joy. Former capital of British India, Calcutta is steeped in colonial history and architecture. India’s second biggest city is also the city of Rabindranath Tagore, and its cultural capital. Take a sightseeing tour of the magnificent Victoria Memorial, Indian Museum, Marble Palace, BBD Bagh, Maiden, Cultural Shows at Nandan Complex, Writers Building, etc. After the tour, tuck into the delectable delicacies of Bengali sweets and savories.
DAY 8 - 10: DARJEELING
Fly to Bagdogra and travel to Darjeeling. On arrival go on long and lazy walks to explore the local culture and surrounding scenery. Next stop: Sightseeing tour to places like Tiger Hill, Tea estates, Buddhist Gompas, Padmaja Naidu Himalayan Zoological Park, Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, etc. You can also experience travel in UNESCO world heritage listed toy train from Kurseong to Darjeeling – a memorable experience.
DAY 11 - 12: GANGTOK
Travel from Darjeeling to Gangtok, capital of sikkim. It is a comfortable 4 hrs ride passing through breathtaking scenery. On arrival go on long and lazy walks to explore the local culture and surrounding scenery. Go on short excursions around the city of Gangtok and explore the magical terrain and mountainous landscape of Sikkim
DAY 13: NEW DELHI
Travel to Bagdogra and fly to New Delhi via Kolkata. Relax in the evening.
DAY 14 AGRA
After a sumptuous Indian breakfast, travel from New Delhi to Agra. Check in to a luxurious hotel, take a relaxing break, and break for lunch. Post-lunch we see the Taj Mahal (closed Friday), built by Mughal ruler Shah Jahan in loving memory of his beloved consort Mumtaz Mahal. The next day visit Agra Fort, where Shah Jahan spent the last days of his life watching the Taj Mahal and Fatehpur-Sikri which is also a UNESCO world heritage site and leave for Jaipur
DAY 15-16 JAIPUR
Travel from Agra to Jaipur in a car( A comfortable 5-6 Hr Journey) Go for a sightseeing tour to Amber Fort located at a distance of 11 kilometers from Jaipur, ‘The City Palace’ which has been converted into a museum containing rare manuscripts, Jantar Mantar the astronomical observatory built by Jai Singh and drive past Hawa Mahal – the palace of winds, its five-storey façade decked with no less than 593 finely screened windows and balconies. Conclude with visit to Albert Hall Museum Evening: Visit to Chokidhani, a typical Rajasthani village and catch the flavor of folksy dances from the happy-go-lucky locals. Wind up the day fine dining over a Rajasthani dinner
DAY 17 NEW DELHI
Have a relaxing morning, and enjoy a sumptuous breakfast in the hotel. Travel to New Delhi and drop at the International airport. Tour Ends with sweet memories.
